More on Infante to KC

Infante tagging out Chris Getz,
ironic as he is taking Getz' job in Kansas City
Recently, the Kansas City Royals signed Omar Infante to a four year $30.25 million deal.

Infante, 31, is coming off a very strong 2013 campaign boasting a .318 average and a respectable .345 OBP in 118 games, all at second base for the Detroit Tigers. In the past infant has played all around the field including quite a few games in the outfield but with his best defense coming at second base, he is likely to stay there for the Royals. Infante hit .375 against Kansas City last season and .500 (10-for-20) in five games at Kauffman Stadium, which although is a small sample size, indicates he has the potential to put up good numbers there, especially coming off a hot 2013 season.

Infante will be a huge upgrade from Chris Getz, whom was recently non-tendered after struggling in 78 big league games, fighting to keep his average above the Mendoza line. With this addition, I expect the Royals to be a dark horse candidate for a spot in the AL Wild Card, with so much depth on the bench.
