The
San Francisco Giants added the powerful right handed bat they were looking for when they agreed to a one-year deal worth $6 million dollars with
Mike Morse. The deal was first reported by Andrew Baggarly of CSNBayArea.com
Morse, 31, is coming off a 2013 season in which he spent time with the
Seattle Mariners organization before he was traded to the
Baltimore Orioles before the trade deadline.

| Mike Morse |
Morse hit .215 last season with 13 home runs and 27 runs batted in. Don't let that fool you, in 2011 Mike had a career year; hitting .303 with 31 home runs and 95 runs batted in for the Washington Nationals. Morse seemingly just didn't fit with the Nationals anymore due to the emergence of
Bryce Harper,
Jayson Worth and his big contract and
Adam LaRoche manning first base.
Morse will try and add that bat the San Francisco Giants have been looking for even when they won their World Series. Morse will add some "pop" and hopefully protect
Hunter Pence and
Buster Posey very well.
