On Monday this week,
Arizona Diamondbacks, in need of relievers, sent third base prospect
Matt Davidson to the
Chicago White Sox for
Addison Reed.
Reed hurled to a 5-4 record with a 3.79 ERA and 40 saves for the Chi Sox last season.

Addison Reed |
Reed whom sported a 4.20 ERA and 69 saves with Chicago the past two years. Arizona will have four years of control on the 24-year-old Reed, who would be arbitration-eligible in 2015 and would reach free agency in 2018 at the earliest. The last time Reed played for the DBacks was back in little league when he was 9 years old — and showed the world on Twitter that he already had played for the Diamondbacks in the Vineyard Little League of Etiwanda, Calif. He will certainly bolster their bullpen and could potentially beat out
JJ Putz for the closer role, however I see him more suited to be a setup man. The Diamondbacks have already made a few good moves earlier this off season and this is no exception. Expect them to make more moves and have a half decent team next season.
