Astros, Qualls back together

The Houston Astros and Chad Qualls have agreed to a two-year deal the team has announced. The contract is for $6 million dollars and includes a club option at $3.5 million for the 2016 season.

Chad Qualls
Qualls, 35, was originally drafted by the Houston Astros in 2000. In 2007, the Arizona Diamondbacks shipped reviler Jose Varverde to the Astros; Qualls was sent to Arizona in the deal.

Last season Qualls pitched for the Miami Marlins, where he posted a 2.61 ERA while winning 5 games for the Fish. Qualls is the setup man the Astros, who have shown they are willing to spend, need if they are going to contend in the American League.
